Re-establishing our ability to co-exist with wildlife.

By viewing the outdoors as an opportunity for ecology-focused education and by taking direct action through research, land management, and data collection, we can empower ourselves and others alike to support wildlife welfare and conservation.

“No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced.”

-David Attenborough,

Biologist, Natural Historian

Our mission

to re-establish an environment where both humans and wildlife can find the space, time and freedom to enjoy our lands and oceans in a manner that satisfies both needs.

We see spending time in nature as an opportunity for ecology-focused education. Through taking direct action through research, land management, and data collection, we can empower ourselves and others alike to support wildlife welfare and conservation.

Our definition

Viewing our world from an eco-centric perspective, we define ourselves as not only part of the environment, but advocates and defenders for it.

We want to define our organization as an open door - that anyone from all walks of life can contribute to being the solution - improving the health and welfare of our neighbours that have shared the environment with us since time out of mind.

  • Lead by students passionate about defending the environment and sustainability, the Wildlife Conservation & Ecology Society puts a focus on giving students from all disciplines and walks of life with the opportunity to improve, and learn how to contribute to the welfare of terrestrial & aquatic wildlife.

    We provide students with the opportunity to expand their breadth of knowledge of the neighbours they share the land and waters with, and their careers by learning from, meeting, and getting to work alongside wildlife care & ecology professionals.

  • We approach wildlife conservation with four key values to our organization - we call them the 4 E’s;

    The Wildlife Conservation & Ecology Society aims to re-establish our coexistence with wildlife, in which our activities and events are poised to;

    Educate - ourselves, and our community

    Explore - our local environments and wildlife

    Encourage - our community to stand with our environment

    Enhance - local conservation efforts

  • Anyone!

    We strive to work with anyone; from all walks of life no matter what industry and field, to either educate and inspire them to be interpreters and defenders for wildlife, or to enhance our conservation efforts.

    We partner with people from all walks of life, and team up with anyone from local businesses and groups, to internationally-acclaimed and world-class scientific, ecological and wildlife preservation organizations.

  • If you can move your thumbs - you can already be part of our solution.
