The Wildlife Conservation & Ecology Society (abbreviated, WCES) is a university club and nonprofit environmental conservation organization that is on a mission to re-establish the relationship that we have between wildlife and humans.
We’re lead by students, for students, wildlife, and just about anyone that’s interested in protecting the animals we live around.
Starting only in 2025 when our executive team met together in one of our university classes, our story is small, but there’s a long way to go.

Anyone!
Our aim, part of our mission is to work with anyone and all organizations from all walks of life. No matter your major, field of interest or working industry, we emphasize that taking action to protect our planet through wildlife can’t just be done by conservationists - it must be done through everyone.
We’ve partnered and have direct connections to many world-class conservation organizations and groups, allowing us to broaden our efforts and help assist in other conservation projects as best we can.
We welcome everyone into any of our public events and any open-house meetings, but meetings and direct club involvement through membership is set primarily for students at Capilano University.

Students that are members of the club can expect to see a wide variety of activities, all with the aim of protecting wildlife.
Meetings and workshops will provide you with opportunities to learn and share about local wildlife, as well as give you the platform to make connections in the industry, work alongside and learn from active professionals in wildlife conservation.
