Meeting #16 - Biodiversity: Why & How

  • On-Campus: [LB306] Capilano University Library Building 2055 Purcell Way North Vancouver, BC, V7J 3H5 Canada (map)

MEETING #16

Join the Wildlife Conservation & Ecology Society, and its executive team, for our 16th meeting!

In this meeting, we will be training anyone who would like to participate in this week’s event, where we will be dedicating a day to the ocean at Ambleside & John Lawson park, where we will complete a full shoreline cleanup in the morning, then, in the afternoon - a bioblitz at low tide to create a more accurate snapshot of the biodiversity of the many beaches within Vancouver

We will be training you on methods of biodiversity analysis, and how to use apps such as iNaturalist to contribute to the GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility!)

This event is MANDATORY for those wanting to be involved in the bioblitz part of the event on March 30. If you attended a week #5 meeting, where we also covered iNaturalist, you may skip this meeting. If you do not wish to be involved in the bioblitz section, you may skip this meeting.

If you would like to ask about this event, please contact social@wcesociety.org
